Booking and arrival
Send a WhatsApp to +506 8519 2840 with the massage you want, the length (60, 90 or 120 minutes), the time, and whether you are coming to the spa or want a therapist at your hotel or home. We reply with the price and confirm the time. Walk-ins are welcome at the spa during opening hours, but a message ahead guarantees that a therapist is free.
At the spa in Plaza Río Segundo you are shown to a quiet room with soft lighting. The therapist asks a few short questions: any sore areas, injuries or recent surgery, the pressure you like and anything you would rather we avoid. Then you are left alone to undress to your comfort level and lie on the table under the sheet.
Draping, privacy and communication
You are covered with a sheet for the whole session. Only the area being worked on, such as the back, a leg or an arm, is uncovered and then covered again. For Thai massage you stay dressed in loose clothing and no oil is used. The therapist never asks you to remove more than you are comfortable with, and you can keep your underwear on.
Speak up at any point: if the pressure is too firm or too light, if the room is cold, if you want a spot skipped, just say so. Pressure is adjusted on request, every time. Our service is therapeutic massage only, and we keep it that way for every guest.
Hygiene, payment and after the massage
- Fresh linens: clean sheets and towels for every guest, every session
- Warm oil: used in relaxation, deep tissue and combination massage; tell us about any allergies
- Paying at the end: cash in US dollars or colones, SINPE Móvil, BAC transfer, PayPal, Zelle or Venmo, when the session is over
- Afterwards: sit up slowly and drink some water; mild soreness for a day after deep tissue is normal
- Languages: English and Spanish
- Hours: every day 9 AM – 11 PM at the regular price, and until 1 AM with a late-hour fee (spa: +$20 at 11 PM, +$30 at midnight, +$40 at 1 AM; mobile double that)
Couples, groups and mobile sessions
Couples are massaged side by side in the same room by two therapists, and the spa is big enough for groups of 3 to 5 people at the same time, each with their own therapist. If you book a mobile session, everything above still applies: the therapist registers at reception where needed, brings a massage table, fresh linens, oils and music, needs about 2 by 3 meters of floor space and packs up when you are done. Mobile prices include the travel, nothing to add: relaxation from $80 / ₡40,000 for 60 minutes, and a couples massage is one booking for two people at $160 / ₡80,000. For several people at a hotel or villa, each person pays the mobile price of their own massage and groups of 5 or more get $10 / ₡5,000 off per person; see mobile group massage prices.
